MRAA's Thoughts on Safety for an In-Person Event in Austin

Hello dealers!

I’m Sarah. We may have met, but if not, I hope to meet you at Dealer Week this year. As MRAA’s Events and Operations Specialist, I normally try to be a bit more behind the scenes, but Covid-19 has other plans! My entire job and goal is to make Dealer Week a great experience for you — and your safety is No. 1 in that.

I want to let you know that I am working in tandem with other MRAA staff, our hotel partners, our venue partners, food vendors, exhibit general service contractors, and more to make sure we have the proper safety measures in place for Dealer Week in December.

Being that the safety guidelines are currently in flux, we do not have all measures finalized at this time. However, here are a few examples of what we’re looking into to ensure your safety:

  • Badge identifiers to express varying levels of comfort of space and contact.

  • Touchless/minimal touch registration (register before you arrive and help make it even faster and safer for all).

  • Wider aisles for social distancing

  • Sanitizer stations

  • Masks

We’re monitoring groups and guidelines like IAEE, Austin Public Health and the CDC for the latest guidelines available and evolving our plans as time proceeds so we can have the safest and best experience when we meet face to face. We will continue to keep you up-to-date and ensure you know what to expect well before Dealer Week rolls around.
